Hey everyone I'm a widowed father my wife passed away last year at 36 from breast cancer.
I'm in no hurry, but it would be nice to get to the going for a drink stage.
Hey there, I'm in the same boat as you and I'm here reading your posts to figure out the same things.
I was with my wife for 20 years and am lost without her.
My big question is....are women unsure of a man that has come from a successful relationship?
As we pass through new phases in our lives, I think in a way it gets harder. Just dont expect someone to jump in and fill thew void right away, ease into new relationships just like you did pre-marriage.
At 18 we just have to say we like each other and it's fine. I imagine for many women they would feel the painful emotional presence of your wife as well as an overwhelming sense of fear at the thought of falling in love with the father and child then it not working out. I would suggest 'Parents Without Partners' they offer socializing with the kids and support for the adults. You will find people, and potential girlfriends or LTR/Marriage partners who will admire you for sticking by your wife ntil dath did you part, even if dath came WAY sooner than it should have. I once joined a widows dating sit and got off it really fast because everyone seemed to want an insta-wife.
It will come down to logistics and finding a woman in a similair situation such as yourself or a childless woman who has a open heart and mind to the situation. A woman who wont see your situation as a challenge or burden is out there..
Online may not be the way you meet her, as when we scan profiles online, any liitle thing can/will deter us, cause we dont know YOU.
I made the same mistake of trying to replace my wife too soon afterwards and I know that I will never be able to do just that.
