ASU gave Pratt a written admonishment in 2012 after the allegations by Kunzi, records show.
The policy approved by the faculty senate will broaden the ban to include any students whom an instructor can "reasonably be expected" to have academic or employment authority over.
This could apply to entire departments or schools within the university. The revision now goes to ASU's legal counsel for review and then to the administration for approval.
